A visit from Grandma!

I really love my grandparents! I don't get to see Gr. and Gr. Rogers very often, but when I do I just pick up right where we left off. Of course I have them wrapped around my little finger and they love our visits just as much as I do. They came this past weekend to visit, and then Grandpa had to leave on Sunday after church. Grandma got to stay 3 more days and then fly home on the airplane. (Which I was REALLY disappointed I didn't get to go on too!) We played, read, walked, and talked, and I just couldn't get enough of her. She is always so kind to me, and makes sure to listen to everything I say...even if it doesn't all make sense yet! Here are a few pictures Mom took of us the day that Grandma was leaving.

Singing for Mommy

I have really started enjoying singing! I like to sing along with songs I already know, and make up songs to sing as I play. Today Mom was talking on the cell phone in the car, and I started singing in the backseat. As I got progressively louder and louder, to the point that Mom could no longer hear the person on the other line, she realized this was my song, "I WANT MY MOMMY BACK! YEAH! I WANT MY MOMMY BACK!"
I also love to sing at church. The problem is I don't know the words, and I REALLY like to sing LOUD! I will listen the music and keep the tune pretty well, but I just sing, "LA LA LA LA LA" at the top of my lungs. Mom and Dad try to get me to sing a little more quietly, but they don't want to get angry or make me stop, because they want me always to love music and singing!

Looking at the moon and building a testimony

(A note from Mommy)
These pictures are what I found outside a few nights ago while Daddy was grilling dinner. He yelled,"Ashley, come look!" And then you also yelled, "Ashley, come look!" You are a BIG FAN of the moon, and you told Daddy that you both were going to lay down and look at it.

Next, Jaxon-you are cracking me up daily with your interpretations of the things we say. I guess we just take for granted that you will know what we are talking about...

during your prayers we give you a few lead words and let you finish the sentence. So one of our leads is, "help me to build a..." and you fill in "testimony" well last night it was my turn to help youand I gave you that lead and you said "SHIP!" Daddy hid his face to hide his laughter, and I had to laugh because we have been watching the video "Nephi's Journey to the Promise Land." So I said, "AND build a ..."
"SHIP!"
mom: "test...."
Jaxon: "SHIP!"
mom: "testimo..."
JAXON: "SHIP SHIP SHIP!!!"
(Dad of course could not control his laughter at this point so we end the prayer)
Well today I was cutting fruit and veggies in the kitchen and you came running in and yelled,
"MOMMY COME QUICK!!! Come helpee build a testimony!" and you had one of your blocks in your hand. I had to laugh. So we went into the other room and I asked, "What does a testimony look like" and you said, "You build it! I knockee over!"
my goodness I love you Jaxon. Everyday my heart is bursting with Love and I don't know how it could get any fuller. Then the next day I love you EVEN MORE!!! You are such a blessing to Daddy and I, and we are so happy to have you as our son!

photo shoot with Daddy

Today mom wanted to do a few pictures of me in front of a plain backdrop and she asked daddy to help her out. She did get some cute pictures of us, but mostly Daddy and I played a lot... I had so much fun, mommy didn't even mind! I was supposed to be sitting IN FRONT of the backdrop, but most of the pictures are of me and daddy looking OVER the top- we are silly guys!!!

On a different note, I am actually not feeling very well today, and I came home early from my first birthday party ever! Mom knew I was sick when I didn't want to stay for games, pizza, or cupcakes at my friend Tate's house. Tate just turned 5, and I was the only 2 year old invited, I just idolize Tate!

"HAHAHA! DAddy and Jaxon are FUNNY!!!"

This is my version of Daddy doing, "The Thinker"

Here is Daddy's version of, "The Thinker"

What a cutie!!! (And SO flexible)

"HAHAHA Look how BIG I AM!!!

Taking my cues from Daddy- my favorite!

My Fake smile!

Daddy is my best buddy!

"Can she still see us???"

"Of all my friends, Daddy is #1!!"

A note from mom..

Jaxon you just crack me up! These are some funny things you have said to me lately!

1. "Mommy, I go live ah Tate's house." ("Ah" is how you says "at", and Tate is the 4/5 year old son of a good friend of mommy's. You really love Tate.
2. "Mommy, Go FASTER!"
3. "Come on pople!" (After I honked, you said this, again! This is the second time you have done this, apparently this is what I say after I honk...)
4. "Mommy, you buy Shashon ("Jaxon") Moldy-bike?" (Moldy bike is how you say "motorbike" which is what you call a motorcycle.) You are absolutely OBSESSED with motorcycles right now...but if I have anything to do with it, you will NEVER ride one!

Also, yesterday I drove one of my YW to school. In the 10 minute car ride, you asked "Why?" at least 30 times, and I think she was about ready to jump out the window. Sometimes it gets tiring, but sometimes days lateryou will repeat to me something I said to you during one of our question and answer periods and it is just hysterical the things you remember. Last week you saw a motorcycle and said, "no ride! Unky Brit say NO NO! A too dange-us" It must have been a week before that I told you we don't ride motorcycles because Uncle Brit, who is a doctor in the ER, says we can never ride them because they are too dangerous.

I love you my spunky talkative little man!
