The Nativity- 12-24-08

Tonight was our Christmas Eve festivities, and they were great! We went to the Rogers family Christmas Eve dinner and program. It was the first time our family has been there for it, and boy did I love it! We ate in the gym of a chapel across town from Grandpa and Grandma's house, and the best part was ALL (and there were A LOT) of the kids just got to run wild in the open end. I am such a social butterfly that I made friends and jumped right in. Of course it didn't hurt that I have 5 girl cousins (Tricia and Scott's girls) that absolutely adore me and think I am the cutest thing ever! I didn't eat much dinner, as I was having way to much fun playing, but the best was yet to come. I got to be a wise man in the nativity. At first when I got my costume on I was a little nervous, but Daddy told me to go straight to "Mary" and hand her my gift. I did exactly that!! I guess Dad forgot to tell me what to do AFTER that because I stood right in front her of her and just stared for the rest of the reading. (That was a lot better than the other two wise men who got in a wrestling match over a pacifier!)

After the program we drove home and got ready for bed. We left a plate of the sugar cookies for Santa, and carrots for the reindeer! I was SO excited, even though I wasn't totally sure what exactly was coming the next day- HURRAY FOR CHRISTMAS!

Dad helped me get ready for my big performance!

I went to see Grandma and tell her that I wasn't very happy about my costume!
Walking down the hall to the nativity! What a cute little wise man!

Las Vegas Fun! 12-23-08

We are absolutely LOVING our time here in Vegas! It is so relaxing to be with loved ones, and not at your own house where you have so many responsibilities!
We got in Sunday evening and had a delicious "Christmas dinner" with several of Dad's siblings and their families. It was a crazy, chaotic time, and it was wonderful! We decided that everyday we would do at least one family/Christmas activity, so Monday after everything settled down a little, we went to the BELLAGIO to see the water show! I was ENTHRALLED!!! It was so neat to see it! The first set we saw, I watched from Dad's arms, and then we went in and saw the gardens- amazing!! The second water show I got to enjoy from the vantage point of Grandpa's shoulders, and you never saw a happier kid! I have a special place in my heart for my Papa's, and they love it! Today (Tuesday) we are going to decorate Gingerbread houses with cousins, and then decorate Sugar cookies with Grandpa. Tonight we are going to go caroling and delivering those sugar cookies! Wed. is a huge family Christmas Eve. dinner with all of Dad's cousins/aunts/uncles in the area. I am loving LOVING LOVING this holiday!

This is me and Mom making our gingerbread house. Mom mostly made it, and I mostly ate candy- we were both happy with that arrangement!

This is me and Grandpa frosting sugar cookies! We had a lot of fun, and Grandpa even put some frosting on my nose! He is sure silly!

More Christmas Festivities 12-21-08

We went to see the Temple lights before we left to spend Christmas in Las Vegas. I really liked them A LOT!!! When we got there, mom said, "Jaxon, do you want to go see Baby Jesus?"
I said: "Ummm...well....Is King Herrod gonna be there?
I am obsessed with watching the living scriptures story of the birth of Christ. I am terrified and obsessed with King Harrod saying that all the baby boys have to be killed. Mom and Dad thought it was pretty funny, and pretty smart of me to ask about him!

It was a cold night! (For Arizona standards!)

Me and Dad drinking some hot chocolate. Boy did I think I was big!

These pictures are at the ward Children's Christmas party. This is Dad helping me put together my sticker manger-

This is Mom helping me write what my present to Jesus will be this year. I chose Love, Taco Rolls, and Pizza Snacks...pretty creative!

Finally, this is handsome ME in my Christmas outfit! Don't I look BIG!?!?!

Jaxon and Santa! 12-18-08

I’m gonna be honest, the Santa at SS Mall this year looks more like a skinny, mangy, homeless guy, than Santa…but in his defense, he was really nice to me! We talked all about the tool set I want, and I was happy as a clam!
I meet Santa...

Me and Santa discussing my tool set...

You have to agree with me, this guy is a little (read: LOT) dodgy looking...

ME feeling to see if Santa's beard is real- it is...

Santa feeling to see if my beard is real...not appreciated!

It's beginning to look a Lot like Christmas.. 12/17/08

Here is our snowman village! I L-O-V-E it!

I loves the nose on this one (made by Grandma Ferrell)-

These two are little puzzle pieces which I take apart and (attempt) to put back together several times a day! (made by Grandma Ferrell)

Mom thought this was very cute. This is Dad's present from me, and I signed my own name!

And one last tidbit- This is me with Mom's lip stain (yes lip STAIN, not lip-STICK) on my face. I found some on the stairs and used it all over my face. Lucky Bonus- not a drop on my white shirt! Thank heavens for small favors!

A different Rx 12-11-08

The flu is going around! It is nasty, but luckily it's quick! It started with Aunt Amber, then mom got it, then me and ALL my cousins got it. Mom got it on Sat. so she stayed up from church, throwing up a LOT! I also started to feel sick, so Dad stayed home with me as well. I hadn't thrown up yet, so Dad said the home-teachers could come over, and Mom would stay upstairs. Everything was going well until right before the closing prayer. I climbed into Dad's arms and whimpered a little. Dad thought it was because it was right before my nap time and I was tired. One of our home-teachers was saying the prayer, and right in the middle- I threw up ALL OVER DAD!! It was loud, and it was GROSS!! The home-teacher stopped his prayer for a second, then said a fast, "Name....AMEN!" Dad was covered in throw up- his WHOLE suit, tie, etc. But had somehow managed to keep ANY from getting on the couch or the floor. The hometeachers wanted to help, but there was nothing much they could do! Dad took me upstairs and stuck me on the bathtub, and it was all downhill from there. Lots of throw up and diarrhea for the next 24 hours, but pretty much right after that, I bounced right back to health!

The Rx 12-10-08

Yesterday I had my appointment with a physical therapist and an appointment with a pediatric othopedic specialist. The news is good! I have what's called "Idiopathic toe-walking" I have really flat feel, and poor muscle development in my legs and core, all of which lead to, and also stem from toe walking. We have to do physical therapy at home everyday to strengthen my core (no, I won't be doing baby crunches...but I still don't like it!) and I have to wear a special type of tape on the front of my leg from mid-calf to right before my toes. It pulls up on my foot just a tad bit to remind me to walk with my feet flexed instead of pointed. I also need a pair of (very expensive) orthodic shoe insoles. It's very treatable, and the earlier found, the better. So, that is an early Christmas present for us, and such a weight lifted off my mind.

This is how we have to tape my legs. The tape is blue too!

We have to get a regular exercise ball and do this. I should be able to balance on top with something in my hands (a snack or sippy cup) without having to lean way forward or hold on to the ball or Mom and Dad's hands, while they tip the ball slightly forward and back, and side to side.

Oatmeal- EVERYWHERE 12-9-08

(Story told by Mom)

Yesterday Amber and her three Children (4,2, and 8 months) came over. Jaxon and Oakley (the 2 year old boy) are sometimes TROUBLE with a capital "T" when they get together...all of a sudden, things that used to be naughty and scary become absolutely hilarious! I had quickly taken Amber upstairs to look at their family photos on the computer when Kalle (4) yells, "MOMMA!! AUNT ASHLEY!!! COME QUICK!! THE BOYS ARE BEING REEEEEEEEEEAAALLLY NAUGHTY!!!!!"
As I was running down the stairs as fast as I could, Oakley ran right past them (laughing hysterically), with some substance flying after him...kind-of like confetti. Not a second later Jaxon comes running behind him (also laughing hysterically), holding a Super size Tub of dry Oatmeal, throwing large handfuls at Oakley as fast as he can get his hand in and out of the tub.
I yelled, "STOP!!!!" and everyone skidded to a hault. I told Jaxon to go immediately to sit in time out, (which he did with no protest...not normal) and I followed a large trail of outmeal back to the kitchen. I had just opened the tub that morning, so only enough for mine and Jaxon's breakfast had been missing. There was an obscenely huge pile in the kitchen, and the rest was in a trail to the stairway. Jaxon politely showed me that the tub was empty anyways, and thus said "Don't worry Mom, It's all gone, I won't do it anymore!"
At that point, it was either laugh or cry, so I turned away so he wouldn't see me chuckle, because to be honest, It actually looked like a lot of fun to use a whole tub of outmeal as confetti... bright side? At least it wasn't applesauce!

Christmas Pictures 12-08-08

Mom took me over to her friends house today to have some Christmas pictures taken, and she LOVES the way they turned out! They really show my true personality!

Oh man! Those eyes! Mom sure loves my eyes! They change from blue to grey to green, depending on what I'm wearing. Mom says I'm going to drive the girls crazy when I get older...AFTER MY MISSION!

Mom thought these last few were pretty funny becuase they made me look so chunky! If there is one thing that I am NOT- it's chunky!!

Knott's Berry Farm 12-06-08

Today we went to Knotts Berry Farm, and it was SO MUCH FUN!! It was a different experience than Disneyland- not much to see, but a lot more "rides" for people my size. Hailey and I played in Camp Snoopy all day and had a blast! We went to a Snoopy Christmas show, and I got to dance on stage and play the jingle bells with Snoopy and Charlie Brown! My favorite ride of all? THE LOG RIDE! I thought I was so big riding with the big people, and I laughed hysterically everytime we went down the BIG hills! We rode on it about 8 times!

Waiting for the Snoopy show
Me, Dancing on stage with Charlie Brown!

This was my favorite ride of the day! IT went up high and then "dropped" us down. It made me giggle and giggle!

I also really loved riding in the airplanes!

DISNEYLAND!!! 12-5-08

Today Me, Mom, Aunt Emily, Hailey, and Peyton all went to Disneyland! Mom never really liked Disneyland growing up in California, but Aunt Em promised it would be lots of fun bring us kids. Boy was she right! Mom loved it almost as much as I did! We had the most wonderful, amazing time ever! I LOVED EVERYTHING about Disneyland! I loved the rides, I loved the decorations, and I LOVED the characters! I REALLY loved my Mickey ears, and I wore them for most of the day! The first ride we went on, Snow White, scared me just a little, but it was ALL uphill from there! I especially liked anything I could ride "All by myself" only with Cousin Hailey but without our moms! It was all decorated for Christmas, and I couldn't wait for the Christmas parade, because my cousins told me that Santa was going to be there!

Riding on the teacups! It made Mom and Aunt Emily a little sick, but I thought it was great!

Waiting for the Circus train!

I think I had a little crush on Minnie. When I was leaving from giving her a hug, I turned around, kissed her nose, and then ran to mom and buried my head in her leg! It was sure cute!

Mom and I watching the Christmas Parade- boy was it good!

Flying Reindeer- Pluto at the top of a ship- WOW!
Waving to Santa! Santa was talking in a microphone, and I turned to mom with wonder in my voice and said, "MOM! Santa CAME! And he said if I'm good, he's coming back on Christmas!"

After the Parade I was EXHAUSTED!!! I hadn't had a nap and had MOVED MOVED MOVED ALL DAY. It was still an hour until the fire works show, so I just crashed in my stroller, then on moms lap during the entire Pirates of the Carribean ride. (That's a bummer, cause mom thinks I would have really like it!)

Mom woke me up just in time for the fireworks show! I had never seen fire works before, and I'm not quite sure what to think. They were really cool, but also a little loud and scary, especially for someone who just woke up.

Right after the fireworks it "snowed" at Disneyland! It was the perfect end to the perfect day!
