Chocolate Chip Party Sept. 08

Today was not my best day. To sum it up I fell off a kitchen chair, onto my face, on the tile. I got two major fat lips and bled quite profusely. The fault of the fall lies equally between Mom and I, but at least it wasn't on purpose. After the fall I was in pain and was a quite a holy terror. Mom felt terrible for me, and tried to console me, but nothing worked and I was practically hysterical. Mom told me that I could have a "Chocolate Chip Party" with Daddy if I would calm down and pick up my blocks. Mom had no idea was a "Chocolate Chip Party" was, but since I perked up and started cleaning, she just made it up as we went along. She made Dad and I matching "party hats" and gave us each a bowl of Choc. chips. She also layed out the strawberries, and we had a great time at our party, and we saved the hats for another melt down!

Bed time Sept. 08

As I have said before, I really love my bed, I love to sleep, nap, and all things crib- related!
I had two different babysitters this weekend, both said that I am the easiest to put to bed of anyone they have ever babysat. So, a few nights ago, I had an early bath because I was FILTHY From playing outside. When I got out, it was still about 15 minutes till bedtime, but Mom didn't want me to go back downstairs and get all riled and involved in toys or a video. So, Dad went down and got some books, and we had "special reading time in Mom and Dad's bed"I thought that was pretty cool! At 7:30 Mom said, "Okay, it's bed time. You get to sleep with mom and dad tonight!" Mom was under the impression that this was every kids dream, and although she was just teasing, she wanted to see if I would get super excited. She turned off the overhead and bedside light and pulled the covers over the three of us. I started Bawling!!! I'm talking real tears! I was saying, "PEASE GO MY OWN CRIB! NO SLEEP WITH MOM AND DAD! NO LIKE DIS BED" PEASE GO MY OWN CRIB...PEASE!!!!" As soon as Mom turned on the bedside lamp and I could see, I shot out of Mom and Dad's room so fast I was a blur. When they got into my room I was holding onto my crib for dear life! I could barely keep my head on mom's shoulder for a song because I was afraid she might try to take me back into our bed with them.

Crouquet August 08

While Mom was in Utah for the funeral, Daddy and I bought a croquet (or as I say, "OKAY!" set) Well, tonight we all went out to play, and Mom happened to have her camera downstairs, and fun and hilarity ensued. I loves to play a game where Mom or Dad stand behind me and help swing at the ball...only to miss wildly! I then laughs hysterically and falls all over the place while they try to hold me up and do it all again! That's what these pictures are! It's nice to finally have some pictures with my Mom!

Fun Saturday! July 08

We had some fantastic family-together time. We went to Target and on the way home we stopped at the park to play a little baseball because it was (relatively) cool, and (relatively) cloudy. ME and Dave had a hilarious time, while Mom took pictures!

Mommy and Me July 08

I was sitting next to Mom at the computer, totally engrossed in drawing on my clipboard. Sometimes I will do this while mom works on the computer. Yesterday I helped by making applesauce cookies to surprise Daddy, and of all the things I helped me do, and asked Mom about, what is the one thing I am still repeating? "Mommy, those beaters gonna chop my fingers off if I put dem in the bowl?" I also "helped" sweep (not so helpful..) Vacuum-(FANTASTIC HELPER, and I loves it!) And mop with our new mopper-vac, which I am in love with! Today I "helped" Mom sort laundry and clean off bathroom counters! What a guy!

One last piece of cuteness, I am really offended by litter at the moment. Everytime I see some I say, "Momma! Somebody littered! Now Heavenly Faddur gonna havva pick dat up. Dat's not very nice!"

I need a "kedick Card" July 08

this is the conversation that transpired in the car this evening-
Mom: Dave, did you know that when we are paying at the grocery store, Jaxon tells me he needs a credit card?
Dad: Jaxon, you DO NOT need a credit card!
Jaxon: Yes I DO need a kedick card!
Dad: Jaxon, did you know that I didn't get a credit card until I was 23, and that was only because your mommy had one?
Jaxon: When you got married?
Dad: Yes, when I got married.
Jaxon: I wanna get married...uh...no...I wanna get 'a little bit married' so I can get a kedick card too!

Which begs the question, what is a 'little bit' married????

I'm cute and a tribute to Great Grandpa Ferrell July 08

Mommy was putting me down for my nap today and singing me a song while I had my head on her shoulder. After she finished a rousing rendition of, "Teach Me to Walk" I picked up my head, smiled at Mom and said "ENCORE! ENCORE!" Mom could not stop laughing! She also couldn't stop singing because everytime I said "encore" at the end of a song, She would sing another!! She was so surprised I knew what that meant. Right before my nap we watched a new Cailloo video, where Cailloo puts on a puppet show and at the end his mom Says "Encore" but there is no explaination after that about what encore means! What a smartie pants!!

My Great Grandpa Ferrell just passed away this week. I got to meet him a few times, and I am lucky to have some pictures with him. He really was such an amazing man, and I'm sure that my grandpa got all his great qualities from his father. He served 5 missions, and LOVED being a missionary. He would joke that when the sign up sheets for splits with the missionaries would go around the ward, he would be the only one to sign up, and it was pretty funny that the young wippersnappers needed an old man to show them the ropes in the mission field. He would call Great Grandma "toots" and she would often sit on his lap, even late into his 90's. They celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary the day before he passed away. Great Grandpa leaves a wonderful legacy.

The Movies and other summer stuff June 08

We have really been stretching lately to find fun, indoor, cool activities, and this is what we have come up with-

1. Brailyn and Malia invited us to come to a summer movie with them! It was my first movie, and despite it being and hour and 20 minutes, I lasted through the WHOLE THING! It was also a Wallace and Grommet Movie, not really my thing, but I was so excited to actually be there that we stayed. I was in and out of my booster a few times, (on purpose, and several times because I got to close to the edge and fell out) I sat on his chair without my booster, but was too light and got closed in it. I insisted for about 30 seconds that I liked it that way, but then demanded to be un-trapped. I also reached out and grabbed Brailyn's hand several times during loud music...I was protecting her, rather than looking for protection!

2. Indoor Baseball- Mommy Pitch! This is Mom pitching the big red ball to me and also trying to get a picture at the same time. After about 20 minutes of pitching to me, Mom decided we should take a field trip to Toys R Us to get a little baseball "T"...that way she wouldnt have to keep pitching. Well, at the store we had the choice between a BORING OLD REGULAR T, or a SWEET BATTERY OPERATED T that ALSO shoots the baseballs out. I got the battery operated one,

3. Indoor Baseball- Machine Pitch! This was absolutely hysterical to watch. I would get so excited about the ball shooting out that I would often forget to swing and get hit in the head instead. I would them start smacking at the ball on the ground, forgetting that another one would be shortly shooting out again! Needless to say I didn't get a lot of hits, but we had a great time!

4. Art Easel! I found this baby at KB toys at the mall on clearance for 13 dollars! We set it up and Jaxon loves it. He feels very professional, and often makes up stories about what he is drawing.

"Eww! What is dat?" June 08

I have been seriously "aware" of smells lately...as in...I CANNOT STAND anything that smells bad, and I have a very acute sniffer. I think my favorite saying right now is, "Ewwwww! What is dat?" Then when I find out what the offensive smell is, I will describe it as either "stinky" or "Gross"
This may be a little personal, but I still go in in the bathroom with Mom and Dad. Now, before crossing the threshhold I will ask, "You gonna do stinkers?" If the answer is no, I come right in to chat. If the answer is yes, I slam the door as quickly as possible.
So, three funny things happened this week. First, Mom and I were driving and I said, "Ewww! What IS dat?"
Mom didn't smell anything, so she said, "Jaxon, there is nothing smelly right now!" I said, "yes der is...you did a...a...hiccup!" (I actually meant burp but couldn't remember the right word!) then I said, "No more stinky hiccups mom! Dat's gross!"
Next, yesterday Mom was eating some left over Tilapia and she brought it over and sat next to me. I immediately stopped eating my peach and said, "Ewww! What is dat mom? Dat's gross! NO LIKE IT! NO LIKE IT! GO AWAY!" Mom told me that if I didn't like the smell I should smell my peach instead. I proceeded to stuff the peach right up my nose and say, "Dat's better!" Every few seconds I would take it out and sniff, and immediately stick it back in saying, "Ewww! Gross!" Finally after a few rounds of this, I broke down (and note the use of the word "PLEASE" here) I said, "Pease go way mommy, I no like that smell! Pease eat somewhere else!"

The funniest thing happened with Dad a few nights ago. I was taking my bath before bed and I passed gas in the water. I of course then smelled it and said, "Ewwww! What is dat???" then I grinned at Dad and said, "Oh! Dat's ME!"

Swimming fun June 08

Today Brailyn and Malia invited us over for some swimming fun! Malia said, " Jaxon, I am so tired after you come over, but it sure is entertaining!" She also says that Brailyn does all sorts of "interesting" things when I come over that she would never have thought of trying on her own...





A few new Jaxonisms here! My new thing is when Mom and Dad offer me something (anything!) I says,
"Uh...no fanks. I'd like somepin better!" Also, today our family was using a gift card at Pei Wei for dinner and I wanted to try some of Dad's Chicken-which had peanuts, to which I am allergic-
Jaxon: "Daddy, can I pease has some chicken?"
Mommy: "Sorry buddy, that has peanuts, they would make you sick!"
Jaxon: (pointing an accusing finger at Mom and waving it in my face) "NO TALK-A ME MOMMA! I'M JUSS TALKIN-A DADDY!!!!"
Jaxon: (in a very nice normal voice again, as if Dad didn't just hear the whole exchange)
"Daddy can I pease has some chicken?"
Dave: "No Jaxon, it has peanuts, and they would make you sick."
Jaxon: "Okay Daddy."

Jaxon and Grandpa June 2008

This is what I was doing out in Grampa's shop yesterday. I cannot bear to be separated from Bampa, but also can't stand to have sawdust in my eyes. Bampa gave up his goggles so I could stay out with him. Is that true love or what? We are working on the trainset grandpa is making me. It will be a keepsake forever!

Time out for Bumble!

This morning when Mommy came into my room to get me out of my crib, I told her I couldn't come yet because Bumble was in time out! I told mom that he hit me, and that wasn't nice. Mommy had a talk with Bumble bear about not hitting, and then I got him out of time out. I told mom that he hit me again, so I put him back in time out! Then I had a talk with him and said, "NO NO HIT BUMBLE! That's not nice! Friends not like it!" Then Bumble learned his lesson and he got out of time out, and I got out of bed. Mom sure thought it was cute!!!

8/12/08 Another photo session

I have just loved playing with some of mom's props in her photo studio, so she gave in and did a photo shoot with me dressed in cowboy gear. Daddy doesn't love cowboy stuff too much, but even he had to admit how cute I looked. I am growing up so fast and talking non stop. Some funny things I say right now are when mom and dad offer me something, no matter what it is, I say, "Uh....no fanks. I'd like somepin better!" Mom and dad think thats pretty funny, and wonder where I learned it! I also have become quite the gum chewer. I chew it ALL THE TIME, and I am very good with it. I don't swallow it or stick it anywhere, although occasionally it falls out of my mouth. Mom will give me a piece after breakfast, and two hours later when she gets me out of the gym daycare, I am still chomping away. When I have to eat some real food, I beg mom to save it for me so I can, "get it later!"

A photo shoot with Bumble

Mom just set up an at-home studio, and I was her first client! It's also a good time to show off my new buzz...even shorter than last time! (Gramma says I look like a convict, but Mom loves it!) Anyway, here I am in some Sunday clothes with Bumble

Look at my new buzz cut! Mom thinks it looks really cute, and I have gotten lots of compliments. Mom says its only for the summer...but it sure is low mantenance...so we'll see! Kalle, Oakley, and I got to go play at the Tempe Beach Park Splash Pad, and boy did we have a good time. As it turns out, I don't actually like to be splashed very much, especially NOT in the face...so we mostly played in little puddles and short sprays of water. I did take one spray in the face, and I DID NOT enjoy it very much!!!
